The release of the first tea export was carried out in the Kelapa Gading area, North Jakarta on Friday, April 1, 2022.
This corporate action is a concrete manifestation of the company’s commitment to implementing marketing strategies through strategic partnerships and downstream product expansion. Holding Perkebunan Nusantara PTPN III (Persero) with the advantage of a tea area of more than 20 thousand hectares and dry tea production of more than 50 thousand tons per year, partners with Starbucks Corporation, a beverage company from the United States headquartered in Seattle, and has a business network the largest in the world, has more than 32 thousand outlets in 79 countries and has a very strong brand image.
Holding Perkebunan Nusantara PTPN III (Persero) succeeded in convincing Starbucks Corporation (Starbucks), a multinational company from the United States (US) to continue purchasing tea produced by Perkebunan Nusantara Group in 2022. The total international trade value reaches 496,000 United States Dollars (USD) or around 7.11 billion Rupiah (assuming an exchange rate of IDR 14,360 per 1 USD).
The success of selling tea commodity to Starbucks continues the trend in previous years. Last year, the total sales value reached 322,000 USD or around 4.62 billion Rupiah. Based on this data, Holding Perkebunan Nusantara is able to increase the value of tea sales contracts by 54% in 2022.
