Successfully Solving Asset Problems in Gunung Mas, PTPN Group’s Cooperation Pattern Appreciated by Minister of ATR/BPN

Bogor, 30 March 2023 – Holding Perkebunan Nusantara has succeeded in optimizing assets in the form of land in Gunung Mas, Megamendung District, Bogor Regency, West Java, which has been illegally occupied by the community since almost 25 years ago. President Director of Holding Perkebunan Nusantara PTPN III (Persero) Mohammad Abdul Ghani, said that the land in Gunung Mas Plantation of PTPN VIII, has been illegally occupied at several points by the community, both in the form of residences and plantations.

“Today, we have solved the problem with solutions including, some of the land occupied by the community, we will give Building Rights Title (HGB) on PTPN VIII’s Land Management Rights (HPL). The rest, for the development of the Eiger Adventure natural tourism area and other supporting facilities, we will also provide HGB on HPL owned by PTPN VIII, “said Abdul Ghani, when accompanying the Minister of Agrarian and Spatial Planning (ATR) / Head of the National Land Agency (BPN), Marshal TNI (Purn) Hadi Tjahjanto, visited the asset recovery object, Thursday (30/03/2023).

Abdul Ghani said that currently there are still tens of hectares of PTPN Group land whose position is occupied by the community. His party is committed to continuing to resolve these problems as a form of optimization of company assets. “We continue to make these efforts in humane ways,” he said. As directed by President Jokowi, Abdul Ghani continued, the resolution of land occupation issues must be coordinated with SOE Minister Erick Thohir and other stakeholders. “I would like to say that Mr. President’s direction, one of which we have done today, is to approach the community in a humanist manner,” he said.

The cooperation pattern in resolving asset problems carried out by PTPN Group received appreciation from Minister of ATR / BPN Marshal TNI (Purn) Hadi Tjahjanto, because it was considered a balanced solution for the parties. According to him, this step is a good effort in solving the problem of BUMN assets. “Where SOEs do not lose their assets, the community receives the benefits, including PT Eigerindo Multi Produk Industri (EMPI) also receives the benefits,” said Hadi.
Hadi further said that the problem-solving scheme was not only a balanced solution, but also paid attention to environmental aspects around the land. “Apart from being relocated, residents who previously owned agricultural land on PTPN VIII land can also work at PT EMPI, especially in the construction of the Eiger Adventure Land tourist attraction,” Hadi said.
