Jakarta, March 8, 2025 – The heavy rainfall that has poured down on Jakarta and its surrounding areas in recent times has caused flooding in several areas, affecting thousands of residents. Responding to this condition, Holding Perkebunan Nusantara (PTPN Group) through its Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) program has moved quickly to distribute aid to people in need.
Aid was provided in several affected areas, one of which was in the Rawa Jati area, South Jakarta, on Friday, March 7, 2025. The aid distributed included cleaning equipment, mineral water, and ready-to-eat food such as instant noodles, milk, and crackers, including food to break the fast for residents who are performing worship during the month of Ramadan.
The President Director of Holding Perkebunan Nusantara PTPN III (Persero), Mohammad Abdul Ghani, said that this assistance was a form of the company’s concern for the condition of the community who were experiencing a disaster.
“PTPN is present not only as a business entity, but also as part of the community that has social responsibility. We hope that this assistance can ease the burden of affected residents and help them recover and get back on their feet after the disaster,” said Ghani.
Ghani said that in a disaster situation like this, collaboration between various parties is the main key in recovery efforts. PTPN is committed to continuing to support the community through various social programs that have a direct impact.
In addition to Rawa Jati, similar assistance has also been distributed by PTPN I in the Pancoran area, South Jakarta. Similar assistance was also provided by PTPN Group to a number of disaster-affected communities throughout the country. This distribution is part of PTPN Group’s ongoing initiative in responding to various emergency situations that occur in the community.
“We realize that the impact of flooding is not only in the form of material losses, but can also affect the psychosocial conditions of residents. Therefore, we will continue to strive to provide assistance that is not only material, but also supports mental and social recovery for affected communities,” added Ghani.
